February 18th-Create an Accordion Memory Book

Looking for a special gift to give your loved one? Join us at the library Thursday, February 18th from 3:30-5:30 p.m. and learn to make an accordion memory book. You supply 10-12 pictures that can be cropped, paper cutter, and Aleene’s Tacky glue. The library will supply all other materials needed for the scrapbook. The scrapbook will have a birthday theme. Be creative, have fun and go home with an accordion memory book.

Monday, February 15-Brian "Fox" Ellis-Lincoln Tales Tall & True

Looking for a night out the whole family can enjoy? Join us Monday, February 15th at 7:00 p.m. as storyteller Brian Fox portrays Austin Gullaher. Step back in time as Fox weaves tales about Abraham Lincoln through the experiences of his childhood friend Austin Gullaher. Trace Lincoln's rise from prairie state rail-splitter to America's favorite president. Learn about the man behind the myth in this blend of history and humor. Bring the whole family to the library for a night of discovery.

Monday, February 8-Visit the library and take part in Snapshot

Visit us on Monday, February 8th and participate in Snapshot-One day in the life of Illinois Libraries. On this day we will be collecting information, comments, and photographs from events in a typical library day. The results will offer indisputable proof that libraries consistently provide invaluable services to our community. Snapshot is a project of the Illinois Library Association

Openings Available for 4 & 5 Year Olds Story Hours-Register Now

Registrations are being taken for Story Hour at the Morton Public Library.

4 & 5 year olds will meet for six sessions from 10:30-11:00 a.m. every Tuesday, February 2 through March 9.

The sessions will include stories, finger-plays, games, songs, and tons of fun. This is a great opportunity for a child to meet and interact with children their own age and gain a love of reading at an early age.

Story Hours are limited to 20 children in each age group, and sign-up is required. Once your child is registered, they are registered for all six sessions. To register, visit the Morton Public Library, 315 W. Pershing or call 263-2200.

Thursdays in February -Scrapbooking Club

What do you do with all those family photos you took over the holidays? Need to catch up on your memory books? Do you ever wish you could scrapbook with friends while the kids are at school? Now you can!
The library is hosting a scrapbooking club. Come to the library with your supplies, spread out, and enjoy a quiet creative environment. Take this opportunity to invite some friends to share ideas and supplies. The club will meet every Thursday through February 25th from 9:30-11:00 a.m.
