6-Week Story Hour Registration Begins
Registration begins on Tuesday, September 2.
3year olds– Tuesdays, 10-10:30 am, September 30– November 4
4&5 year olds– Thursdays, 10-10:30 am, October 2–November 6
Story hours include stories, songs, finger-plays, games and fun. This is an excellent opportunity for children to meet new friends and gain independence. Story hours are limited to 20 children in each age group and registration is required. Once your child is registered, they are signed up for all 6 weeks.
Pumpkin Festival Art and Photography Shows
Morton Public Library is pleased to host the Pumpkin Festival Art and Photography Shows again this year. Entries will be accepted the weekend of September 6-7 with the Photography Show judging and Critique on Saturday, and the Art Show judging and Critique on Sunday. All of the art and photography will be on
display at the library September 8-13.
Entries for the Photography Show will be received at the library Saturday, September 6 from 1-4 pm.
Judging will follow, with the Critique, which is open to the public, beginning at 7 pm.

A People’s Choice ribbon will be awarded. People are invited to vote for their favorite entry in each show. The People’s Choice winners will continue to be exhibited in the library during the week after the Pumpkin Festival.
Both shows will be open during Pumpkin Festival Week Monday-Friday 9-9 and Saturday 1-4.

Septemper 6--Join Us for a Fun Show by Class Clown Alley
Morton Public Library will host a Show by Class Clown Alley on Saturday, September 6 at 10:30 am. Kids bring your grandparents and stay for a program featuring clowns that will amaze you and possibly tickle your funny bone. The show will be held in the Children’s area and will begin promptly at 10:30 am and will last until 11:00 am. You are then invited to play with the clowns while they make balloon animals, face paint, and show you more magic tricks until 11:30. Join us for this lively program. Summer Reading Success - Get in the Game, Read!
Congratulations to the 503 children and teens that completed their summer reading goal! Our "Get in the Game, Read" summer program was a grand success. We had over 1000 children and teens participate in all the summer fun. Thank you to all the parents for encouraging your children to become successful readers. Together, we truly are a winning team.

Home School Book Club Summer Time & Date
The next Home School Book Club will meet on Friday, October 3rd, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. The book we will be discussing is Virginia Dare-Mystery Girl by Augusta Stevenson.

Videos available for downloading
Digital videos may be downloaded from the My Media Mall link on the Morton Public Library home page. Travel, sports, biographies, excercise, and children's titles are among the videos available. Films are checked out for 7 days and are automatically checked back in at the end of that period--No late fees ! If an item is already checked out, you can put it on hold and you will be notified by email as soon as it is available. My Media Mall is open 24/7 and also features audiobooks and e-books that can be downloaded and enjoyed anywhere on a wide range of portable devices, including MP3 players, Pocket PCs, Smartphones, PDAs and CDs.
