Interlibrary Loan Service
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) offers our patrons the opportunity to request and receive items that are not owned by Morton Library or found in our library system (Reaching Across Illinois Library System - R.A.I.L.S.).
Through ILL, you have access to the circulating book collections of all the library systems in Illinois, as well as universities and public library systems throughout the United States. You must have a valid Morton Public Library card to use this service. There are no fees for this service.
Items available for request:
DVDs, CDs, VHS, and cassettes

Photocopies of documents, magazine and newspaper articles
Interlibrary Loan requests may be made:
Materials which may not be requested through ILL:

Newly published materials (materials less than 3 months old)
Entire issues of periodicals
E-books or e-documents/articles
You may order photocopies of certain materials not available through ILL, such as magazine articles and reference materials. Photocopying charges may be incurred. Please contact the Interlibrary Loan Department for questions concerning photocopy requests.
Most materials acquired through ILL may be circulated. Occasionally the materials you request may be designated by the lending library as restricted. This means that this material must be used in the library and cannot be checked out. You will need to provide your library card when you come to the library to use the restricted material.
Renewal of Materials
You may renew your ILL material one time, unless noted "May not be renewed" on the item. You can renew online, in person or call the library at 309-263-2200 before the material is due.
Returning ILL Materials
ILL materials should be returned to the Morton Public Library.
If you are signed up for email notification, you will receive your notifications about your ILL material just like other library materials: when the item is available for pick-up, when the item is coming due, when the item is overdue. Sign up for email notification here.
