The Morton Library is the collection site for the photos and personal papers found in the 5 county area 130 miles away as a result of the November 17 tornado.
This effort was named "Community POWER Project" on January 7.

About Community POWER Project: Morton Library has been home to the Community POWER Project since its inception, immediately after the tornado on November 17, 2013. The grass-roots project was formed to coordinate statewide efforts to retrieve and reunite photos, documents and mementos that were blown away during the storm. "The name was inspired by a Washington resident, who felt empowered by the support of volunteers statewide, strangers who had helped her reclaim items that were lost. We felt that spoke to our mission perfectly - to restore power to the community by showing our united support and reuniting people with their lost treasures to help them continue the healing process" explains lead Community POWER Project volunteer, Laura Ruff.
