Summer Reading is just around the corner and we are busy planning lots of great activities. Mrs. Snoke and Mrs. Yoder will be visiting your school very soon to tell you about all the fun events planned. Here is our upcoming schedule; we look forward to seeing you very soon.

Summer time is a great time to read all those books you may have put off because you needed to get Accelerated Reader points. We have so many great books at the library that may not be AR. This is your chance to read for fun and not have to worry about Accelerated Reader.

We also have many different ways you can listen to great stories. If you have not tried a Playaway® or Playaway View®, Book on CD or Tape, summer is the time to experiment. These are especially nice if you are going on a long car trip!

Our theme this year is Have Book, Will Travel! When you visit the library be sure to register for the reading program, (registration begins May 22 the minute school is dismissed), and ask us about receiving a Flat Stanley. We hope to monitor where families go during the summer. It will be fun to find out what places Flat Stanley visits. The first place my son and I are taking him is Chicago Pizza in Peoria!

I’m so excited about this summer, we have some awesome shows lined up for our Friday Brown Bag-Its. You will be receiving a calendar of events when we visit your school. Be sure to take it home to your parents so they can schedule your summer visits.
