MAKE A SPLASH, READ!

Kick-off Day, Monday, June 7:   9 a.m.-8 p.m.   First day to sign up for Summer Reading!   Fun, games and activities all day long!   Receive a prize just for signing up!

Goals:   5 "white-label" books or 10 "color-stripe," (Picture) books from
the Morton Public Library.   All books read must be entered on your log sheet that is kept at the library.   To receive your prizes, be sure to tell a librarian when you have reached a goal!

Read-to-Me Program:   Summer program for children not yet reading on their own.   Party celebration on Saturday, July 24 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. for all those who have listened to at least 10 books.   Please visit the children's desk for more information.

Teens Read:   Make Waves, Read!   Program for teens going into grades 7-12.   Complete a goal of reading five (5) Young Adult books.

Wednesday Reading Club:   Wednesdays, June 9 through June 30 from 10-11 a.m.   Grades 4-5-6.   Different activities each week, including books, games, reading, contests and puzzles.   Earn points for summer reading.

Crafts:   Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 10, 17, 22, 24 & 29 for students entering grades 1-6.   Please check our calendar for times .   Limit 25 children per session.
Registration required each week.

Brown-Bag-It Fridays:   Starts Friday, June 11th.   Bring a sack lunch and enjoy a fun-filled program every Friday through July, noon to 1 p.m.   Fun programs for the whole family.

Special Tuesday Brown-Bag-It:   Presenting THE SPOON MAN Performance June 15th from 12:30-1:15 pm.

Meet & Visit with 2 Cornbelt Baseball Players:   Friday June 18 from 11:30-12:30 pm.

Red Cross Babysitting Course:   Saturday, June 26 from 9:00 am-4:00 pm.   Cost $50.00.  
Must call to register with Red Cross (309) 677-7272.   (First class - June 12 already filled.)

Preschool Fun:   Tuesdays beginning in July from 1-1:45 p.m.   Designed for Preschoolers.   Limit 20 children each week.   Includes stories, games, & a craft.
Registration required each week.

Drawing Workshops:   Wednesday July 7 & Thursday, July 22 from 11 a.m.-12:00 p.m.   Grades 4-6.  
Registration available one week before workshop.

Cheer Workshop:   Thursday, June 23 from 11 am.-Noon for students entering Grades K-12.   Workshop sponsored by United Starz Academy / Cheer Time.
Registration available one week before workshop.

Dance Workshop:   Wednesday, July 14 from 11 am.-Noon for students entering Grades K-12.   Workshop sponsored by United Starz Academy / Cheer Time.
Registration available one week before workshop.

Build A Monster Workshop:   Presented by Storyteller Mike Anderson Monday, July 23 from 10-11:00 a.m.   Grades 1-6.  
Registration available one week before workshop.

Magic Workshop:   Monday, July 26 from 11:30 am.-12:30 pm.   Grades 3-7.   $5.00 for take home Magic Packet.  
Registration available one week before workshop.

Pool Party:   For all readers who have met their reading goals.  
Tuesday, August 3, 2009 at New Morton Pool from 7-8:30 p.m.
Must have a ticket to attend.
