Desk Assistant
Looking for a fast-paced job where you can multitask and share a love of reading? Are you tech-savvy, helpful, and patient? We’re looking for a friendly, community focused individual to serve the public at our Checkout and Information desks. This includes greeting people, checking items out, and providing computer, printing and e-reader help. Customer service and/or library work experience is a plus.
This position is 16 hours per week plus one Saturday per month.
We are looking for someone who can work:
Mondays 11:30 am-8 pm, Wednesdays 9 am-1 pm, and Thursdays 9 am-1 pm, as well as the third Saturday of the month. Starting pay is $15.50 per hour.
Responsibilities:
Greet people in a welcoming manner.
Assist patrons in finding materials.
Provide patrons with computer and printer support.
Charge items; handle fines, overdues, lost items accurately, following set procedures in a tactful manner.
Work with all staff members as part of the public services team and fill in as needed.
Qualifications:
High school graduate, some college preferred
Customer service or library work experience preferred
Benefits:
One hour of paid time off for every 40 hours worked, which you may begin taking after 90 days of employment.
Four hours of paid holiday time in honor of your birthday to be taken within the pay period that includes your birthday.
