How can we help?

In-Person Services

  • Books & Bites always welcomes new attendees. The group reads a variety of genres and meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm at a local restaurant; current details are available on our program calendar. Request to join our Facebook page to stay in the know.

    Required Reading - Join us for this book club featuring titles from high school and college reading lists. Do the classics hold up? Meets in the afternoon or the evening on the second Thursday of the month. Check the Program Calendar for more information.

    Do you facilitate a book club? We can help you! Order multiple copies for your next meeting and have your members pick up their book here. Talk to the Checkout Desk staff to get started.

  • You do not need to have a library card to use our public computers. Login with your library card or use a guest pass located by each computer.

  • The library offers community members (families, individuals, service groups) a space to plant and maintain a plot in our community garden.

  • Documents, photos, objects and books of historical interest about the village and residents of Morton are kept in the Local History Collection. The foundation of the collection was the generous donation of all items held by the Morton Historical Society in 1998.

  • The library has various meeting rooms to use for personal study, small group gatherings, or large group events. Click here to learn more about the library’s meeting rooms and make a reservation.

  • Morton Library provides free notary public service to the community. Notary service is not guaranteed, and you need to call the library at 309-263-2200 in advance to confirm the availability of a notary public.

  • In the library: Use the library’s public computers to print documents in black and white or color and use the self-service copy machine and scanner.

    Remote: Print via wireless from a laptop, home computer, tablet or mobile device, and come to the library to release your print job.

Digital Services

  • Libby - Through the library's ADML catalog, you can borrow up to 5 digital audiobooks or ebooks at a time. Download the Libby app to your device to get started. Most Libby ebooks are compatible with Kindle.

    Hoopla - With hoopla, library cardholders can instantly stream (or download via mobile app) digital movies, TV episodes, music, eBooks, audiobooks, comics & graphic novels. It's available 24/7 - Items are returned automatically - free with your Library Card! Get started by downloading the hoopla app to your device or visit hoopladigital.com to get started.

  • Explore More Illinois is a free service provided by your library that provides instant online access to free and discounted tickets to museums, science centers, sporting events, zoos, park districts, theaters, and other fun and local cultural venues.

  • The library subscribes to many online databases for research purposes. An MPL card is required for access to most websites.

  • Patrons may print remotely from outside the library via wireless from a laptop, home computer, tablet or mobile device, and come to the library to release your print job.

Accessibility Services

  • Book Valet, the Library’s curbside service, is available to all patrons with items on the hold shelf available for pick up.

    To use Book Valet, simply place items on hold from your online account. Once you receive a notice that your items are available, it’s time to schedule your Book Valet.

    When you arrive at the library during your appointment slot, pull into the “Book Valet” parking spot by the bike rack and call the Library to let us know you’ve arrived. A staff member will deliver your items right to your vehicle.

  • If you or someone you know has a physical condition that prevents you from coming to the library, the library provides delivery of items to your home. This service is offered at no charge to Morton Library cardholders. Fill out this application, and return it to the library. You can also fill out the form online or you may call the library at (309)263-2200.

  • The library has an extensive collection of books in large print, including both fiction and non-fiction titles.

  • The Talking Book and Braille Service supports the activities of the Illinois Network of Libraries Serving the Blind and Physically Handicapped, in providing excellent public library service to any Illinois resident who is unable to read standard print material due to a permanent or temporary visual or physical disability.

  • A walker is located near the front door to aid library users who may need assistance getting around the library. Our building is ADA compliant and accessible to anyone with physical disabilities.
